Dave Gandy

Dave is the founder and CEO of Font Awesome. He grew up in Carl Junction, MO before attending college at MIT where he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Before Font Awesome, Dave worked at Endeca (big data before it was big data, sold to Oracle for 1.1B) and Kyruus (big data healthcare) as a lead designer.

Aavron Estep

Research Assistant, Electrical Engineering, OSU

Originally from Heldelberg, Germany, Aavron Estep is currently a Research Assistant for OSU and studies Electrical Engineering. In 2015, he did a TED Talk about using 3D printers on Mars. He has led multiple research projects funded by NASA and NOAA including the CLOUD-MAP project, focused on utilizing UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) with sensors that measures data to improve our understanding of the physics of the atmosphere. In his free time, you’ll catch Aavron climbing Colorado mountains, snowboarding, and back backing with his 5 and 7 year old sons. He is very passionate about educating youth in STEM.

Blake has over 10 years of mobile experience and has worked on mobile apps such as PetCo, TB12 (Tom Brady), and Sleep Score Max, just to name a few. He is now in the second year of running his own mobile development consulting business, just purchased a commercial building, and is looking to hire his first full-time employee.

Chris has 16 years of leadership and software development experience. He previously served as the VP of Technology at ATLAS, which was a small startup of 5 people when he joined. He also built the booking platform for Pan Am’s startup jet charter division, and rebooted Stubs.net while still he was still at ATLAS. He’s is now at J.B. Hunt as an I.T. director, and continues to be the sole proprietor of Stubs.net.

He has a habit of collecting hobbies he doesn’t have time for and a passion for technology both new and old. Before joining J.B. Hunt he was a 3D artist and engineer at the Tesseract Center for Immersive Environments.

Jason Bedogne joined Kimbel Mechanical Systems in January of 2013. As the CIO of Kimbel Mechanical Systems, he is responsible for everything IT and he enjoys seeing how IT can serve the employees of Kimbel Mechanical, of which two/thirds are skilled tradespeople who work more with a backhoe than a computer. Kimbel Mechanical is a mechanical subcontractor that installs plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems in “places where people live” and currently has warehouses and/or projects in 22 states across the US. Originally from Virginia Beach, Jason moved to NWA when he took the job with Kimbel Mechanical and now firmly calls NWA home, along with his wife and four daughters.

His presentations borrow from 18 years of retail and technology insight, as Mobile/Cloud/Enterprise Architecture at both QuikTrip and Walmart, and in previous roles as public school teacher, application developer, product manager, board member, and non-profit co-founder. After two decades in technology, Kurt is still driven by his initial passion: connecting and sharing with people.​

Aaron Teague is a Software Engineer with Qbox’s Supergiant team. He manages several Kubernetes clusters that host instances of Elasticsearch. He enjoys mentoring others, making complex problems palatable, and discovering those “aha!” moments. Before joining Qbox, he was a hobbyist game developer and has experienced quite a transition from thinking in terms of hit boxes to Docker containers. In addition, Aaron considers himself a maker and enjoys tinkering with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and 3D printers.

He has also led professional development sessions on technology integration, community involvement, TechStart, grant writing, project based learning, educational use of ArcGIS software, and service-learning.

In addition to providing online professional development for educators, John is responsible for educational outreach including professional development for pre-service and in-service teachers, community programs and liaising with state and local education agencies in the Marshall region of Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee.
