Sarah’s twitter bio is a short and staccato; “Canadian- American. Educated woman. A mother of boys. Step-mom to teen girls. Someone who thinks code is sexy, and teaching is a high calling.
Though, Sarah is a tech junkie with experience in coding, mobile and web software development and tech initiatives. She hails from New Brunswick, Canada, but has called Arkansas home for 15 years. She runs around with an energetic group of women bloggers though mostly spends her time building and fixing blogs than writing them.
With a passion for tech education, Sarah has taught and created curriculum for kids, college students and grown-ups in corporate settings, as well as help with local tech education initiatives. Sarah is a member of the NWA Tonic Fund, a member managed seed capital fund based in Arkansas, investing in early stage technology and tech-enabled businesses across a variety of industries. Sarah is all about girl power. She champions women’s entrepreneurship and has been a part of programs that teach kids and women to code.
Becky Paulk is the owner of Simplify Professional Services, a full service bookkeeping and payroll services firm which began in March, 2009. Becky is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper and Certified QuickBooks Specialist with over 10 years of financial and analytical experience. She was born and raised in State College, PA, is a Penn State University graduate as well as a graduate of Universal Accounting Centers. She is a member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.
Josephine Hardy is the owner of InboundMate, a Fayetteville-based consulting company that offers a human-centered approach to marketing. She specializes in writing thought-provoking content that builds brand awareness, and captures marketing leads for bootstrapped businesses.In recent years Josephine has worked as the Marketing Director for leading local companies including Acorn Influence, DataRank, & Lofty Labs. She also runs the NWA Professional Women’s Book Club, a Meetup group that brings women together to discuss books relating to business, entrepreneurship and women’s experiences in the workplace.
Technical Recruiter and Talent Acquisition professional, focused on sourcing and recruiting in industries such as Engineering, IT, and Retail. Currently HR Manager for ATLAS Technology Group, a suite of business intelligence software and services that assist consumer packaged goods companies & suppliers with customized solutions to manage their retail customers.
Daniel Worthy is an NWA native and has spent the last 10 years as a developer for Rockfish Digital (now a part of VML). He is currently a Director of Technology and spends most of his time vetting new technologies and training other developers. Daniel is also an instructor for the U of A Global Campus’ IT Readiness program. Daniel has spent most of his development career in the Asp.net web stack and has spent most of the last 2 years working with Angular and .Net MVC WebAPI. He is always keeping an open eye to see what the next big thing will be.
Drew Wallis grew up in Farmington, AR and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2010 with a Double Major in Communication and International Relations. After graduation, he became a licensed teacher and has over 8 years experience teaching educational technology and computer science. Drew Cofounded NWA3D in 2015, an educational 3D printing company based in Fayetteville. He is very passionate about spending time outdoors, STEAM education, and workforce development.
James Martin a designer and a full-stack developer. He’s currently Associate Director of Communications Technology at Tyson Foods. His home on the web is wheatdesign.com. At Tyson Foods, James spends most of his time building websites, solving UX issues, and managing content on the Tyson Foods Digital Signage Network.
Originally from Ft. Worth, Texas, James has lived in Arkansas (first Huntsville, then Fayetteville) since his early teens. He spent nine years in Charleston, South Carolina, but returned to Fayetteville in 2012. He holds a M.A. in English and an M.Ed. in Educational Technology.
Zac McCool is a volunteer junkie, cat whisperer, video game aficionado, and a decent technologist. He volunteers with Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Children’s Safety Center, and Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas. Currently he’s a Project Manager at J.B. Hunt.
