NWA TechFest

NWA TechFest is a for-geeks-by-geeks technology conference held each spring in Northwest Arkansas. This year’s event will be April 18, 2019 at The Jones Center in Springdale.

Sky's The Limit

NWA TechFest is a technology conference that brings together the tech community to learn from and interact with one another, as well as promote gender diversity in STEM, economic development opportunities for corporations, and education programs for students and teachers. Proceeds from this conference go to assist STEM-related initiatives in the Northwest Arkansas community.

Conference will begin with breakfast at 7:30am, lunch provided, and end by 4:00 pm.

Brent currently serves as Senior Mobile Development Manager for J.B. Hunt. Originally from Central AR, Brent graduated from UCA with a Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems and began his career in software development in Little Rock.

Jacob Herrington

Jacob Herrington is a self-taught software engineer and open source enthusiast. Jacob is an NWA native currently building ecommerce software at Engine. He specializes in web development, technical writing, and open source technology. Jacob is a member of the Solidus Core Team and hosts the devpath.fm podcast.

Justin Seliger

Justin Seliger

Justin is a Technology Leader currently serving as Sr Manager in Technology and Engineering for JB Hunt. Justin completed his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Brigham Young University in UT, and relocated to NWA where he began his career in Web Development.

Charlie Weber

Charlie grew up in a military family. He graduated from John Brown with a Masters in Marriage and Family therapy. After graduation he worked with a local mental health agency. He made a career shift into educational technology. He is a leader in the K12 education community in Arkansas. He is passionate about enabling change, connecting people, and helping make the world a little better each day. For fun he hunts down great BBQ, plays sand volleyball, and is a video game savant.

Drew Wallis grew up in Farmington, AR and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2010 with a Double Major in Communication and International Relations. After graduation, he became a licensed teacher and has over 8 years experience teaching educational technology and computer science.

Daniel Worthy

Daniel Worthy is an NWA native that graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2007. Daniel is currently a Staff Engineer at OneStoneEcomm. He was formerly a Director of Technology at VMLY&R and an Instructor at the U of A Global Campus for their FrontEnd Development Course. When not programming, Daniel can be found woodworking in his garage, or building stuff out of LEGOs with his kids.
